Tactical Communications: Systems Leadership
The Objective
In tactical environments, information is the most critical asset. Creativity Cubed’s leadership served as the Design and Mechanical Engineering authority for Fuse Integration, tasked with developing the "zero-to-one" hardware and digital interfaces that connect air, sea, and ground forces. Our goal was to simplify complex signal processing into "flight-ready" hardware while making invisible data links visible and actionable to warfighters.
The Approach: Human-Centered Tactical System
-

Systems Thinking Approach
Our process centered on Systems Thinking, ensuring that hardware, software, and the human operator worked as a single, unified unit.
We utilized Design Thinking methodologies to extract nuanced user needs and mission-critical requirements that are often lost in traditional technical specifications.
-
User Interface Design
We pioneered UI/UX solutions that allowed operators to visualize real-time communication links between air, sea, and ground units. By turning abstract data into visual information, we transformed a technical hurdle into a tactical advantage.
-

SWaP-Optimized Hardware
We engineered ultra-compact, ruggedized hardware designed for contained environments like aircraft pods. This required managing extreme thermal constraints and MIL-SPEC standards while prioritizing the ergonomics of rapid installation and removal in secured spaces.
As the leader of Industrial Design, Mechanical Engineering, and UI/UX, our leadership ensured total synchronization between disciplines. We managed the lifecycle from pre-contract strategy and rapid visualization to the deployment of functional, flight-ready prototypes for live tactical demonstrations.
